? On designing your life to work for you:
I spoke to 2 entrepreneurs yesterday and mentioned “today is a ‘want to’ day” for me. I didn’t realize my concept was so abstract until they BOTH said “What?!” ?♀️ so I thought I’d share some behind the scenes of my life with all of you.
? Mondays I have very set days. Before 2pm I hustle hard with business – I get days worth of work done in 5-6 hours then come 2:00, I’m off to my next part of the day- inner “me” work.
❤️That’s when I go to PTSD therapy (called EMDR) and then a massage afterwards to help me process all that I learned about myself. I do not book ANY appointments that evening including seeing friends. It is truly 100% self love/self care time
? My exec assistant knows not to send me customer complaint issues or other things that could throw me off or distract me from this precious (and sometimes challenging, time)
?Come Tuesday I also DO NOT book meetings. Monday has a lot of have-to’s and Tuesday is deemed “want to” day.
? I give myself the time to continue processing the day before. Sometimes I feel quite off or introverted and other times I’m at the studio for hours excitedly working on creating new course videos, but either way- I give myself the leeway to eat ice cream all day or do something highly productive.
?Come Wednesday I’m back at it with a nice mix of “have to’s” and “want to’s” – most are a combination of both. For instance, today I’m teaching a LUXE Fluid Art couples class. I “have to” gather a few more supplies this morning for it yet I “want to” do the fun part which is guide a loving couple through a day they’ll never forget as they co-create a piece of art together
?Most of my moments are “want to” moments for me and that has been by design. Do more that I love and less that drains me.
? The first step is asking yourself “what do I LOVE to do”? Maybe you love to pick up your kids from school but really don’t like making their lunches.
??♀️ Maybe you love painting but feel social media marketing is a “have to”
? Think on it! I’d love to hear what parts of your day are “want to’s” for you
